INTERPLAY is a creative agency in Nakameguro, Tokyo. We work across brand, space, content and digital — not because we collect disciplines, but because the problems we take on do not stay inside one.
Most agencies specialise. It is a reasonable way to build a business, and it makes the offer easy to understand.
We ended up somewhere else. Each time a client asked for one thing, doing it properly required something adjacent — a name needed a visual system, a visual system needed a space, a space needed film. The list of what we do grew out of finishing work, not out of planning a menu.
The company is called INTERPLAY for that reason. What we sell is not the disciplines. It is the ability to hold them together toward one business objective.
Four of us. On your project, one of us is named as the lead and stays there from first meeting to launch.

Meetings are held in English or Japanese, whichever suits your side.
A named lead on every engagement, based in Tokyo, working bilingually. You are not handed to an account layer.
Photographers, film crews, fabricators, developers, stylists, venue teams. Assembled for the project rather than kept on payroll — which is why the team fits the work instead of the work fitting the team.
Where a partner leads part of the work, we credit it. The value we add is not pretending to do everything ourselves. It is making sure the parts add up.
Understand the business situation and decide what the project is actually for.
Set the direction and the customer experience before producing anything.
Assemble the specialists and make the real thing.
Run it, watch what happens, and improve from there.
